Co-Teaching Online Training

As a co-teaching participant, you will need to complete Parts A, B and C of the online Co-Teaching Training. These trainings are required of all cooperating teachers and must be completed to be eligible to host a teacher candidate.

Part A: Basic responsibilities of a cooperating teacher supervisor

Part A Training is provided by the Kentucky Department of Education's Office of Educator Licensure and Effectiveness (OELE).

    2. After making the account, follow the steps in the same document to access Part A Training
  2. After completion of Part A Training, you will need to upload your certificate in KECS.
    For directions on uploading your Part A Training:
    1. You must be signed into your KECS account
    2. Click on the Help icon (to the left of your name which is in the right hand corner)
    3. Refer to the document under COOP, titled, "Coop_Teacher_-_Part_A[1].pdf"

Part B: Best practice in supporting a student teacher (Training)

  3. Email the Student Teaching Coordinator, Angie Young at ayoung61@murraystate.edu   
    As per KDE, your message must include both: 
    1. A statement verifying that you have reviewed all the material in the training module. The statement may be as simple as: I am writing to verify that I have reviewed all the material in this training module. 
    2. A brief narrative describing at least one idea gleaned from the training module to use when supervising student teachers.

Part C: Effective assessment of the student teacher (Cooperating Teacher Packet)

Part C Co-Teaching training is completed by reviewing the , which includes the Cooperating Teacher Information: Guiding the Teacher Candidate booklet and the Student Teaching Notebook
